You can do that now in 1.5: in the Drawing Scale dialog, type a decimal value between 0 and 1. For example:

2:1 is 1:0.5
5:1 is 1:0.2
10:1 is 1:0.1

Such values are just not displayed in the pop-up menu as they aren't commonly used, but are perfectly allowed.

Just one more thing: perhaps some of the difficulties with the layers concept in HighDesign depend on your background as a VectorWorks user. In fact, VectorWorks calls "Layer" what in HighDesign Pro is a "Sheet", whereas a "Layer" in HighDesign corresponds (approximatel...

Hello Beagle, in HighDesign, the only way to move an object to a different layer is: 1. Select the object 2. Choose the new layer from the pop-up menu on the main window. That's it. No additional dialogs, buttons or "Are you sure" alerts. Now, is it possible that you chose the "Wood&q...

In HighDesign, objects can have different colours even if they are on the same layer and the ByLayer option is on. This was designed this way to allow the maximum flexibility. In other words, the byLayer option is a "weak" reference to the colour of the layer that can be overridden anytime...

-- We are doing some tests and reviewing the c...

Hi Beagle, One thing you should pay attention to in HighDesign is layer assignment. To change the layer of an object, you do not open any dialog or type any command: you simply select the object and choose the new layer from the menu. As simple as that. Perhaps you selected that layer with other obj...

You cannot currently assign shortcuts to the Function keys, because they are slightly different from the other keys. Of course, we can add support to F-keys in the future, provided they do not conflict with system shortcuts such as Dashboard on Tiger.

Although there is no dedicated tool (yet), you can measure distances on the fly using the Line tool. As you draw a line, the L and A labels in the lower-right hand corner of the main window show the current length and angle. You can then push ESC or right-click to cancel the line.

That problem could be caused by the scale set during the conversion process. Perhaps the file was generated at a 1:1 scale and you are importing it at a larger scale. Also, setting a different unit, say, millimetres instead of centimetres, can affect the conversion. You should try different combinat...

Hello, First, thanks for trying out HighDesign! Unfortunately, there is no dedicated tool to design stairs, though it would be a great addition. You can, however, create your own library of stairs or parts of stairways and reuse them in any project. Once inserted as a symbol, you can explode and edi...
