symbol modification

Post by macitect »

Hello all,

So I am using symbols a lot more extensively, but how do I modify a symbol that I have already made? I cannot open the .hds file and I can't seem to figure out any other way. Is the only option to explode, modify and resave as a new symbol with the same name (effectively deleting the prior version)?
If this is the only way, will I lose my other views?

Any help would be much appreciated as I now have a nice baby grand piano which in plan is white with an off-white (greenish... OOPS) bench.

cheers,
macitect

I'm having the same problem with importing symbols and files from my acad days. It seems that it's easier to just to from scratch and produce it in HD. Being a pro user I would rather spend my time more wisely.

We don't usually discuss new features, but would you find useful a tool to modify a view of an existing symbol and automagically update all instances of that symbol in your projects?
If the answer is yes, please write to our feedback address to request any features you would like it to have. Thanks.
