Is there anyone in either Vancouver, BC or SEATTLE, Washington that can give "one on one" training of HD? >>>>To a couple of designers who have never used a CAD program. We use sketch up amongst other things.

I'm in Montreal, so can't be of much service, but my advice would be to jump right in and just post lots of questions.
I've been working with HD with increasing regularity for just less than a year. Until recently I was working 8 hour days on ACAD and then doing other work at home on HD. Now I am on HD full time.
You'll find the program is really quite intuitive and easy. Just familiarise yourself with the shortcuts (which can be changed!).
Good luck.
By the way - nice website and welcome to the HD forums!

Thanks for the offers to help. I hope I am not asking too much! I probably am, but here goes........
We need help setting up a page (11 by 17) and scale 1/4" to 1' (mostly) - with zero at 1" down, 1" over from top left of page. With a standard title block (like in the joists drawing- http://www.esse-group.com/inclinedesign ... joists.htm
Rather then describing in detail the type of drawings we need to implement, we have put 2D samples of what we have done in sketchup and Photoshop combined.
at http://www.inclinedesign.info/studio These drawings are not to scale. I also included the initial concept drawings in 3D sketch up, because these quick 5 minute drawings are where we start.
The 2D that we do are fine for design approval, bidding out BUT not OK for permitting. Therefore this is why we want to master HIGH DESIGN. In the past others have taken our design drawings and
usually with difficulty (and misunderstandings) put them into a CAD program. VERY frustrating and time consuming for us.
Other then not to scale, if there is an error in a drawing such as the panel layout, http://www.esse-group.com/inclinedesign ... out_02.htm (and we have an uncorrected dimension) it's a bitch to correct.
We basically want to end up with all the 2D drawings in HIGH DESIGN, 11" by 17" with hi res output for print, so what would be the best route. We understand nothing about the HIGH DESIGN mentality, couldn't find the tools indicated in the Manuel....and felt like we had landed on another planet!
Any suggestions appreciated and thanks for the welcome to the forum.

Hello iDesign ... email me at peteruss@telus.net and I can send you a sample of a Border/ Title Block that I use for an 11 x 17 sheet size.
You can change anything you want to to suit your requirements and set the zero ( Origin ) where you want ........ we can discuss this further by email or call me at 604 682 8301 .
I am in Vancouver and have been using High Design for a while now part of the time. I had no previous experience with Cad but will share what I have learned so far. I am making the switch from the board to HD and learning from the manual and help from Andrea and Co. at High Design, they are very responsive.

Hello Peter,
I am in a similar situation as iDesign. I am trying to use HighDesign to do all my plans, elevation diagrams, etc.
I tried to follow the tips in this forum to create a title block template for my company info, drawing no, date, etc but failed.
I would be very grateful if you could let me know how to do it.
Kind regards,
Edmund
