HD 16.1 file locked up

Anyone have a fix for this:

I was working in a HD16.1 file, no problems. I saved, closed. Tried to reopen the file and it is completely locked up (not responding via Force Quit). The backup file does the same thing.

I have already done a hard restart of the computer, no luck. I have an email in to tech support too, but hoping someone has already run into this and has a fix.

Also tried opening a copy in 1.8.7, no luck. I can open other HD16.1 files (which are larger), so I don't think HD16.1 is corrupted.

Quick reply until we have access to the file (see our email from support): try to open it in 2016.0.2, because one of the fixes of that update addressed a situation like that. There are good chances it will open the file. Otherwise we'll look into the file and see what is causing the problem.

Thank you Andrew, I just sent the file to support. I had another user try it in 16.2, but they couldn't open it either. We even tried a copy in 1.8.7

I think it's a wayward hatch.
