Indication of Selection

I would like to see another way of indicating what is selected. I have found that often i am zoomed in too close to see the end or middle points of an object, and hence do not know if it is selected or not. This has caused a bit of a minor annoyance as i sometimes end up applying an operation to the wrong object, or i have to redo an operation because the object i thought was selected was not. I know i can simply zoom out to make sure i have the proper objects selected, but this too can be mildly annoying.

I would suggest a change in color to a predetermined and customizable selection color or some other way of highlighting the entire object that is selected.
